Begin here …

Welcome fellows. I decided to begin our story here on this date, three days before my birth. The winter Equinox. So wherever you are, no matter your timeline, you can begin to learn and participate fully in the game.

Again, I say begin…

Wednesday Sept 21, 2022 is the winter equinox, a lovely day. There are two equinoxes every year: one in September and one in March. In September, the Sun crosses the equator from north to south. In March it transitions back;south to north.

This means that in Portsmouth Harbour and everywhere on earth, on this date, the day will be the same length as the night. However, on the 22nd of September north of the equator days will get shorter than the night and get shorter and shorter till Winter Solstice on December 21, which is the shortest day of the year. Please correct me if I have made an error. I hope this is helpful.
